Continuing Education —Evolving to Meet Your Needs

Based on member requests and feedback, the Society is pleased to introduce some exciting new changes to the 2010 Continuing Education course, making it even more relevant and focused on your professional development needs.

What's New for 2010

Do you specialize in just one area? Short on time and training dollars? The course and exam are now separated into two distinct tracks – health care benefits and retirement. You can choose the one that best represents your specialty or interest – or take them both for the complete experience. Dividing the course gives you more flexibility in how you spend your professional development time – and budget. The tentative list of course subjects is available below.

For CEBS graduates, Fellowship will be granted for one year for each track, or two years for both tracks.

The ISCEBS Continuing Education Courses/Examinations are available to all CEBS, GBA, RPA and CMS designees who are members of the International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists. It is developed to keep Society members at the forefront of new developments and trends in the benefits field. Society members can elect to receive the continuing education materials as part of their membership dues. (Fellowship status is reserved for CEBS graduates.)

Additional Fellowship Options!

In addition to the annual continuing education courses/examinations for the U.S. and Canada, Society members have other ways to qualify for fellowship status. CEBS graduate members will be awarded two-year fellowship status for each CEBS course completed, provided it was not used toward earning the CEBS designation.

U.S. members who take courses from the Canadian CEBS program or Canadians who take U.S. courses will be able to use them to qualify for fellowship.

For more details and a listing of CEBS courses that qualify for Fellow status, click here.

Society Fellowship

One year of Fellowship status is awarded to CEBS graduate members who pass one track of the continuing education examination, or two years for both tracks.  This special distinction recognizes members who are committed to continuing their professional development by broadening their knowledge in employee benefits, compensation and key related areas.  Fellowship is an excellent way to be recognized within your company, the Society and the benefits community.

  • Latest listing of approximately 500 members who have attained the Fellowship status
  • Fellowship Logo - guidelines & logo artwork
  • Fellowship Lapel Pin - Take pride in your educational accomplishment by showing off your Fellow status with the new logo lapel pin. Developed exclusively for Fellows, this sterling silver pin may only be displayed by Society members holding Fellow status. Order yours today - online or PDF.
  • Other items, such as coasters, mugs and pens are available.

After receipt of your application and fee, a confirmation letter is generated and mailed to you within three weeks. Approximately ten days prior to the examination day, applicants receive an admission ticket to the exam site. This ticket must be presented to the exam proctor in order to be admitted to the exam room.

There can be no deviation from the scheduled day and hour set.
