Information for the 2017 Symposium will be posted as approval is granted. The information below is to be used as a guide for the types of credits available in the past. It is not a guarantee for credit amounts for the 2017 Symposium.

CEBS Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit

CEBS graduates can use Symposium session to earn CPE credit. Each 50-minute hour of education qualifies for 1 CPE credit. The $25 service fee to report credit for other professions does not apply. Visit www.cebscpe.org for more information. 


The 2016 Symposium qualifies for up to 19 CEBS CPE credits.

Insurance Professionals

If there is no indication that your state is pending 2016 Insurance approval in the chart below, no request for credit has been made.

These sessions are approved for the 2016 Symposium.

Note: The links for preapproved insurance sessions do not apply to states where instructor approval is required. Session approvals specific for instructor states will be provided in registration packet on site.

HRCI

The 2016 Symposium is approved for 16.0 General recertification hours toward aPHR™, PHR®, PHRca®, SPHR®, GPHR®, PHRi™ and SPHRi™ recertification through HR Certification Institute® (HRCI®).

The session "The Global Economy: Trends and Predictions Turning Today into Tomorrow" qualifies for "Business Credit."

Any HRCI questions can be directed to HRCI 1-866-898-4724 or view website policies www.hrci.org/recertify. Questions may also be directed to the Society’s Continuing Education department.

 

The use of this seal confirms that this activity has met HR Certification Institute’s® (HRCI®) criteria for recertification credit pre-approval.

SHRM

The International Society is a preferred provider with SHRM. The 2016 Symposium is approved for 16.5 PDCs; you may use this credit towards your CP and SCP designations.

CPA

ISCEBS is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.

In accordance with the standards of the National Registry of CPE sponsors, CPE credits will be granted based on a 50-minute hour. The maximum credit available for the 2016 Symposium is 19.0 credit hours.

CFP

CFP® (United States)

The 2016 Symposium was approved by the CFP Board, only select sessions qualified for credit. A listing of approved sessions is available.

CFP®  (Canada)

CFP Professionals are required to attest to the completion of their CE requirements for the calendar year specified on the annual Application for Financial Planning Standards Council™ (FPSC) License Renewal Form. At time of renewal CFP professionals will not be required to submit CE supporting documentation. FPSC relies on the CFP professional to self-asses and maintain appropriate documentation for their CE activities. You will only be required to submit supporting documentation if selected for an audit.

 

IRS Enrolled Agents & Enrolled Retirement Plan Agents

The International Society is an approved IRS continuing education provider.
The 2016 Symposium is approved by the IRS for 19.0 credits under the category of "Qualified Retirement Plan Matters".
Approved audience: Enrolled Agents (EA)/Enrolled Retirement Plan Agents (ERPA) 

IRS CE is mandatory for EAs and ERPAs only.

Attorneys

State CLE credit approvals are based upon requests for credit received on registration and CE attendance forms.  The 2016 Symposium is eligible for a maximum of 900 minutes of MCLE instruction.

Canadian Insurance Professionals

Life insurance agents can earn credit in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan. The program will be submitted to Quebec for approval (upon request) after the program has taken place.

The 2016 Symposium was submitted to the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO).

The Manitoba Insurance Council has approved the Symposium for 16.0 Life and/or A&S credits.

The Alberta Insurance Council has accredited the 2016 Symposium for 14 Accident & Sickness continuing education hours.
