Nominations are due by July 15, 2025.

Time Commitment
Governing Council members are expected to attend three in-person meetings per calendar year (officers have additional meetings) for approximately 1-3 days each meeting. They serve as a liaison to one of the national ISCEBS committees and attend a Governing Council meeting in May and one in advance of the Symposium. The Society provides travel reimbursements to all volunteers.
Governing Council Responsibilities

Governing Council responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing recommendations presented by the national ISCEBS committees
  • Approving and monitoring the ISCEBS annual budget
  • Supporting and promoting the CEBS program
  • Identifying and launching strategic initiatives to help ISCEBS adjust to the changing professional and educational needs of the membership.

The Council responsibilities can be challenging; however, the ICEBS staff is dedicated to providing insights, assistance and administrative support in fulfilling the duties of any position on the Board of Directors, Governing Council or committees.

Governing Council Leadership
ISCEBS officers consist of the President, Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer. Together, with the six members at large, they make up the voting component of the Governing council. The Immediate Past President serves on the Governing Council for one year in an advisory capacity without the right to vote. The members at large are elected by the general membership, and the ISCEBS officers are elected by the Governing council members. Each member of the Governing Council serves three years unless they are elected to an officer position. The Society follows a "going-through-the-chairs" format similar to that used by most of the ISCEBS chapters. Members of the Governing Council elect a Secretary-Treasurer each year.
